Now, a Elemental shaman basiclly has 3 spells.
2 have cooldowns.
So, lightning bolt, chain lightning, shock, (and maybe a purge) repeat.
Sounds a little too easy (though it works)
Elemental shamans are not (generally) good for one on one fights (Ive learned.
In Arenas.
Ive only got the gear i have becuase we had a rockin team xD)
Elemental Shamans can do a LOT of damage, if unchecked
i can list all my pvp stradagies, but that would be a big post.
I did elemental pvp for a time, as well as enhancement and resto, but I can give you my $.02c worth.
I ran with two specs, one full Elemental with some in enhancement and resto, not much mind you and I ran with a 40/21 elemental / resto hybrid spec.
I prefer the hybrid spec with restoration as it allowed me to switch roles in the group between dps to healer and back to dps.
Elemental, was for me, better at pvp since it somewhat negated the crowd control issue as you can blast from range instead of trying and failing to get up on the person to hit them.
Tactics were to stay with a group, I prefered playing defense myself, blast away and hope for crits.
As a defender you have more options available to you than an offensive role since you can totem farm your position for the enemy who is approaching you, you can slow down flag runners (WSG) with frost shocks and earth binds, you can oust rogues with magma totems etc..
Also you can defend nodes (AB) with heals and quick shocks to stop flag turners, or use magma or searing totem for that next to the flag.
I never did arenas as the first time I tried i was completely locked down spell wise and was dead in a second.
1v1 on elemental is tough, you have to get creative with your totems there.
Versus melee opponents, i liked the frost shock, kite around earthbind technique.
Casters grounding totem's with earth shocks, unless its a warlock then your pretty much screwed.
that was my experience before i quit my shaman all together.
